Oklahoma City, OK
Completed | 2019

Located on land acquired from the Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority, the plan reactivates the historic JFK neighborhood through a thoughtful balance of public and private spaces and varied residential density.

Phase 2, The Seven at Page Woodson, is positioned alongside the historic Douglass Auditorium and centers on private courtyards designed to encourage community interaction. This phase includes 14 residential buildings and 80 rental units, situated north of the redeveloped Douglass high school. The project is named in honor of seven influential Black historical figures: Inman Page, Zelia Breaux, Ralph Ellison, Henrietta B. Foster, Charlie Christian, F.D. Moon, and Abram Ross. Culture Coffee, designed by Gardner Architects, serves as the development’s first retail tenant.

The architecture incorporates a range of unit types and layouts, offering a contemporary complement to the surrounding historic context.

*Completed while employed at Gardner Studio; role: Project Architect/Project Lead.
