Pretty straightforward and collaborative. I guide you through the process, help you make decisions, and keep things moving. My goal is to make a complex process feel manageable—and even enjoyable.

zerep (zee-rep) is my last name spelled backwards—a reminder that design is about seeing things differently, questioning assumptions, and approaching problems from a different perspective.
-
I focus on creating practical, thoughtful designs that work for your life and your budget. I take pride in being responsive, proactive, and persistent when it comes to looking out for you. I like to keep the process simple and low-stress—because it should be. My goal with Zerep is to stay hyper-local and connected, so whether we end up working together or not, you’ll at least have one more friendly face in your corner.

Absolutely. I served 8 years in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer with a combat tour in Iraq. I attribute most of my candor and professionalism to my service.

We primarily work on residential projects (single family and multi family)—renovations, additions, and new homes—as well as small commercial spaces, mixed-use projects, tenant improvement projects and we love a good adaptive reuse. Most of our work focuses on thoughtful, well-designed spaces that are practical and tailored to how people actually live and work.
-
Not every project requires one, but if you're making significant changes to a space, dealing with permits, or want a well-thought-out design, having an architect can save time, money, and a lot of headaches. If we’re not a good fit, or we agree that our services aren’t what you need - we’ll be the first to point you in the right direction.

Most projects move through a few key phases:
Initial consultation / feasibility
Schematic design
Design development
Construction documents
Permitting
Construction support
We tailor this depending on the project, but that’s the general roadmap.
-
It depends on the size and complexity, but as a rough guide:
Design: a few weeks to a few months
Permitting: varies by municipality
Construction: a few months to over a year
We will give you a more specific timeline once we understand your project and your needs.
-
Yes. We prepare and submit drawings for permits and coordinate with local municipalities as needed.
-
Typically either a fixed fee or a percentage of construction cost, depending on the project.
Hourly rates are available as well for catered or specific needs.
We make sure to outline everything clearly upfront so there are no surprises.
-
Yes—we often collaborate with structural engineers, MEP consultants, Historic consultants and others as needed. In many cases, they’re brought in as consultants and their fees are separate from ours.
-
It really depends on the scope of the project, but usually not right away. It’s fairly common to bring a contractor into the process once the design is developed, though sometimes earlier input can be helpful and we welcome early coordination with contractors to encourage accurate scheduling and budgeting.
-
Yes, if you’d like. we can stay involved to answer contractor questions, review work, help keep the design on track and act as your design representative.
-
You don’t need much—just a general idea of what you’re thinking about doing. If you have sketches, inspiration images, or a survey of your property, that’s helpful but not required.
-
Yes - totally! We can start with a quick call or meeting to talk through your project, goals, and next steps.
There’s never a fee associated with our initial consultations. Our goal is to feel out whether we are the right fit for you and your needs.
